Grow Your Own Educator Grant
This program awards grants to the Local Education Agency (LEA) to provide scholarships to paraprofessionals, school counselor assistants, school counselor candidates, school psychologist candidates, and school social worker candidates to become licensed educators. Money appropriated under this program may be used to provide funding to grant candidates for tuition, books, fees, certification exams, 0.35 FTE during candidates' student teaching or clinical experience semester(s), and stipends for mentors.
The Grow Your Own Grant application window is now closed. USBE is not currently accepting applications for the Grow Your Own Educator Grant program.
Cohort 4 - Timeline & Deadlines
June 30, 2027: Last day to spend Cohort 4 funds.
July 19, 2027: Cohort 4 Year-End Report due to USBE (FY26 & FY27)
July 31, 2027: Last day to submit Cohort 4 reimbursement requests in Utah Grants.
August 10, 2027: Financial closeout of Cohort 4 grant program in Utah Grants. All unspent funds will revert back to USBE.
Cohort 5 - Timeline & Deadlines
July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2028: Cohort 5 funds available to awarded LEAs.
October 16, 2027: Cohort 5 Accountability Reports due to USBE.
July 16, 2027: Cohort 5 Fiscal Report due to USBE for FY27.
June 30, 2028: Last day to spend Cohort 5 funds.
July 14, 2028: Cohort 5 Year-End Report due to USBE (FY27 & FY28)
July 31, 2028: Last day to submit Cohort 5 reimbursement requests in Utah Grants.
August 11, 2028: Financial closeout of Cohort 5 grant program in Utah Grants. All unspent funds will revert back to USBE.
