Overview

The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) may have several items released for formal public comment at any given time. Below you will find information on open items for public comment, helpful resources, and information on how to report a concern. Feel free to share your input with USBE.

Members of the public are also welcome to send informal comments to their board members at any time (USBE Board Members). If you do not know the name of your board member, please go to Learn About the Candidates and Issues on the Vote.Utah.org website.

USBE Seeks Public Feedback on Math Standards. USBE is seeking public feedback on the revision of the Draft P-12 Utah Core Mathematics Standards. These standards have been released for a 90-day public review period as of June 19, 2025.

Utah State Board of Education (USBE) Seeks Public Comment on ESSA State Plan Revisions. In alignment with the approval of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), USBE is seeking public comment on the revision of the Utah State Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) State plan. The proposed revisions update language to more accurately reflect our current and recommended practice (in alignment with state and Board direction). USBE is seeking public comment on the draft language ahead of the August 2025 Board Meeting where the Board will consider this revised plan for approval and submission to the U.S. Department of Education.
