CTSOs
Overview
Student leadership organizations were established with the commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people. In addition to offering a wide variety of specific career and technical training, CTE integrates student leadership elements, which complements student participation in these courses and programs. The term ”Career and Technical Student Organizations” (CTSOs) means an organization for individuals enrolled in a career and technical education program that engages in leadership activities as an integral part of the instructional program.
FCCLA is the CTSO for students in the:
- Food Science, Dietetics and Nutrition Pathway
FFA is the CTSO for students in the:
- Agricultural Mechanics Systems Pathway
- Agricultural Production Systems Pathway
- Animal and Veterinary Science Pathway
- Plant Science Pathway
FCCLA
FCCLA provides students with opportunities attain knowledge, skills, and leadership characteristics necessary to succeed in life, as well as promoting personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education.

Nationally, there are 260,219 members in over 5,410 chapters.
